We want you to succeed in the home inspection industry. Your success is our success. Choosing a reporting system (and what it costs you) is a big decision for your business, so here’s exactly how our plans, trials, and cancellations work.
This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to customers of Tap Inspect, Inc. (“Tap Inspect,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) who purchase a subscription to our mobile application and/or related services, offered on a software-as-a-service (SaaS) basis through our URL: https://app.tapinspect.com (the “Application”) to provide home inspection services.
Trying Tap Inspect Out
You can try the Application, support included, no strings attached, before paying anything. See https://www.tapinspect.com/pricing for the current number of free inspections included. You can also earn extra free jobs by completing free courses at Tap Inspect Academy; no need to purchase a plan first. If you’re still deciding after that, we suggest trying a block of Pay As You Go jobs before committing to an Unlimited or Team plan.
When your free inspections run out, your account doesn’t lock: you keep full access, you just won’t be able to publish or share new reports until you buy more jobs or subscribe to a plan.
Our Plans
- Pay As You Go: you buy a block of inspection jobs upfront; no monthly fee, and your card is only charged when you buy another block.
- Unlimited: a flat monthly fee, billed on the same date each month.
- Team: a flat monthly fee for the first inspector (the Team Owner), plus a per-inspector add-on fee for each additional team member.
There are no long-term contracts on any plan. You can find our current pricing for each of our plans here: https://www.tapinspect.com/pricing/.
Changing Plans
You can switch plans anytime from your account’s subscription page; it takes effect immediately, not at the end of your billing cycle. Your subscription needs to be active to do this: if you’ve canceled, you’ll need to resubscribe first, then change plans from there. Please note:
Switching from Pay As You Go to Unlimited or Team: You’re charged right away, and your new monthly billing date resets to the day you switched. Any unused prepaid job credits from Pay As You Go aren’t lost: they stay on your account and become accessible again if you switch back to Pay As You Go later.
Switching from Unlimited or Team to Pay As You Go: Any unused portion of your current month is credited to your account (not refunded to your card) and applied toward your next block of jobs.
If you want to time a switch for the end of your current billing cycle instead, that’s on you to do manually: we don’t automatically hold a change until your next renewal date, and your next billing date is always shown on your subscription page.
Team Members
If you’re on the Team plan, the Team owner can add or remove team members anytime from Team settings.
Removing a member ends their access immediately: They’ll no longer be able to log in or see their own account data. Any jobs they worked on stay visible to the Team owner, since that data belongs to the business, not the individual inspector. The unused portion of that member’s fee for the rest of the current month is prorated and shows up as a credit on your account.
Adding a member works the same way in reverse: You’re charged a prorated amount for the remaining days in your current billing cycle, shown as a line item on your account, rather than the full per-inspector fee.
Cancelling
You can cancel an Unlimited or Team subscription anytime from your account’s subscription page. We’re not able to cancel it for you; if you ask us to cancel, we’ll point you back to that page.
Pay As You Go doesn’t have a “cancel” step, since it’s prepaid; you just stop buying new blocks whenever you want.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period: you keep full access, including sharing results and editing reports, right up until then. After that, you won’t be able to publish new reports or edit old ones. But your account, your data, and everything you’ve already published or shared stay accessible to you and to your clients. If business picks back up, you can resubscribe anytime.
If your subscription is past due, you can’t cancel it manually; it’ll be automatically canceled for non-payment instead.
If you’d like to delete your account and data entirely, you may request deletion from the Application or your web account (see our help center guide). We’ll send a confirmation email from info@tapinspect.com, and your account and everything in it will be permanently deleted 30 days later, unless we are required to keep such data for legal purposes. Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share your personal information.
Refunds
We don’t offer refunds on prepaid jobs or unused subscription time; that’s the trade-off for keeping our pricing simple and low. That said, this isn’t an absolute rule we’ll hide behind: if something’s genuinely our fault (a billing mistake, for instance), reach out and we’ll make it right at our discretion.
Why It Works This Way
We’re proud of how simple Tap Inspect is to learn, but we’ve also learned that new users need real support while they’re getting started; that’s part of why we offer free trials and live support. We’re a support-driven company: we believe technology is only as good as how much it actually helps you, and we’re here to make sure it does. Contact us by email at info@tapinspect.com anytime.
